The exposed coastline of East Lothian makes the region ideal terrain for golf courses - while the food, drink and friendly locals make it the ideal place to stay for golfers.

There are a total of 22 courses in the area - some of them among the most admired in the world - including Gullane, North Berwick West Links, Archerfield, Dunbar and Muirfield - home to the 2013 Open Championship. East Lothian boasts the world’s oldest golf course - Musselburgh Links.

The region also enjoys close proximity to St Andrews. You can enjoy a day trip to the Home of Golf by road (2 hours) or, in the summer months, you may be able to sail to nearby Anstruther (45 minutes by ferry then a 15 minute taxi ride on to St Andrews).

The children's course in North Berwick is also a real find if you have any budding golfers in your party. For more information on golfing in East Lothian visit:www.golfeastlothian.com.
